Abstract
From the moment Francisco I. Madero called for revolution on November 20, 1910, Mexico changed forever, and this caught the interest of the United States. Americans received news of the revolution by newspaper, and that presentation of Madero often shaped their views. The American government played an integral part in keeping diplomacy and relations amicable with the Mexican government while doing little to stop the transfer of arms and supplies across its border. With the use of newspapers, Foreign Office documents, and various secondary sources on Madero, this thesis will illustrate the average American view of Madero and his revolution.
