Submissions

We welcome submissions of both full-length research articles to Research section and short articles to Innovative Practice section and Forum section. All manuscripts need to meet the following requirements:

Title Page

A title page is required to include the manuscript title, authors, affiliations, contact information for the corresponding author, and author acknowledgements, if applicable.

Style

All manuscripts should conform to the most recent edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. The manuscript should be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or docx) and include: main text, references, appendices, tables and figures. The manuscript should be double spaced and left justified, use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and have pages numbered consecutively.

Word Limits

Full-length articles for the Research section should be approximately 5,000-8,000 words in length including references, appendices, tables and figures. Short articles for the Innovative Practice section should be no more than 5,000 words in length. Submissions to the Forum section should be no more than 2,500 words in length. An abstract of approximately 80-120 words should be included for all submissions.

Originality of the Manuscript

Authors submitting manuscripts to JAE should not simultaneously submit them to other journals or should manuscripts have been published elsewhere.

Permissions 

The authors need to secure written permission from the copyright holder of the text, if more than 500 words of copyrighted text are included (APA guildelines). JAE will not be responsible for the cost incurred as a result of the permission.

The Journal of Appreciative Education (JAE) is an open-access e-journal committed to promoting educational theories, practices and collaborations from an appreciative, strength-based perspective. Peer Review

This journal follows a double blind peer-review process for all submissions for the Research section and Innovative Practice section. Submissions will be assigned to reviewers with all identifying information removed. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two editors and the blind peer-review process will involve at least two reviewers. Forum section submissions will go through editorial review. Authors will be notified as soon as the decision is made regarding the manuscript.

You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
