Abstract
Resumo
Este texto, utilizando como referência principal a originalidade da relação de Ana Maria e Paulo Freire inspirando compromisso e luta pela recriação de uma proposta de educação libertadora, está organizado em duas partes:
- O reencontro de Ana Maria e Paulo Freire após seu retorno ao Brasil na década de 1980 e o papel importante de Ana Maria na vida pessoal de Paulo Freire e a repercussão disso na sua produção intelectual a partir de então. Por outro lado, após a morte de Paulo Freire em 1997, ressalta o trabalho árduo e compromissado de Ana Maria para difundir e expandir suas obras e para torná-lo mais reconhecido e valorizado.
- Minha própria constituição de educadora inspirada fortemente em Paulo Freire e em conseqüência disso bastante envolvida com a escola pública, onde tive a oportunidade de desenvolver pesquisa, estudos e projetos relacionados ao processo de ensino e aprendizagem com crianças e jovens do ensino básico e à formação permanente do educador.
Abstract
This essay, using as the main reference the originality of the relationship between Ana Maria and Paulo Freire which inspires a commitment to and fight for the creation of a proposal for a liberating education, is divided into two parts:
- The return of Paulo Freire to Brazil in the 1980s brought with it a series of adjustments and adaptations in his life, most profoundly the death of his first wife. During this new phase in Paulo Freire’s life Ana Maria, on one hand, was the great animator of his reinvigoration and, on the other hand, she was establishing herself decisively as an indispensable support to the concreteness of the work that still remained to be accomplished.
- The encounter with Paulo Freire encouraged challenge and daring in my desire for transformation of the public school. To illustrate this, from an idea that I presented to the group of managers and after extensive discussion and analysis, we created and developed since 1998 the PROVE (Project of Educator Appreciation and Improvement of Quality of Education) project, which is an educator training project that currently involves educators and teachers of six public schools in the region of M'boi Mirim in the southern part of the city of São Paulo. We had a very large participation in this project, from its inception to the present day, and the project, after many fights and having weathered many crises, has become an attribute of identification to many people who have been and still are in contact with it.
