Abstract

South Dakota State University utilized Appreiciative Advising strategies and activities in the summer of 2015 during its New Student Orientation sessions.  Nearly 2,000 new students and their families participated in activities throughout their one and a half day stay on campus in June and July.  Adding Appreciative Advising to New Student Orientation led to many thoughtful conversations about how the students time at South Dakota State Univeristy can impact and help them reach their dreams.
